About Mecavex

Mecavex Inc. is a Quebec company bringing together project management, mechanical design, product innovation and functional prototyping.

Our approach combines operations management with expertise in design and technical development. This combination allows us to address projects with their organization, operation and manufacturing realities in mind.

We support planning, budget tracking, stakeholder coordination and progress monitoring. Depending on the assignment, our management services also draw on mechanical design and product development expertise.

Depending on each assignment’s requirements, we plan to collaborate with engineers, architects and other specialists to bring together the skills the project needs.

Our Expertise

Manage, design and deliver.

Structured management and complementary technical skills to move your project forward.

01

Project Management

From planning to progress monitoring, Mecavex helps organize your project: defining stages, coordinating stakeholders, and tracking resources, budgets and schedules.

Planning and Organization

Define priorities, assign responsibilities and establish a schedule to give everyone a clear view of the work ahead.

Team and Supplier Coordination

Connect participants, clarify needs and track commitments to keep activities moving smoothly.

Budget and Progress Tracking

Track spending and completed milestones, identify variances and work with the people involved to determine necessary adjustments.

Technical Support for Your Assignment

Draw on our mechanical design, product development and prototyping expertise to inform decisions and resolve technical challenges.

02

Mechanical Design

3D modelling, assemblies and technical drawings. We develop the product’s form and details with its operation, use and manufacturing in mind.

03

Product Innovation

Exploring concepts, materials and applications. We refine solutions to meet the project’s needs and identified constraints.

04

Functional Prototyping

Preparing prototypes, parts and jigs. Creating a physical object helps validate design choices and identify necessary adjustments.

Our Team

Jean-Philippe Lévesque

Vice-President and Director · Project Management

Jean-Philippe brings over 19 years of experience at Bell Helicopter to Mecavex, having progressed from assembler to production supervisor.

This background combines hands-on knowledge of shop-floor work with experience organizing operations and supervising teams.

He is also the owner and manager of BraidWood Industries, where he undertakes non-standard machining assignments for projects beyond conventional specifications. This entrepreneurial experience strengthens his understanding of manufacturing challenges and the coordination needed to deliver unique projects.

He holds a vocational diploma from the École des métiers de l’aérospatiale de Montréal and has also studied business management at TÉLUQ.

At Mecavex, he leads project management, tracking budgets, schedules and work progress. When needed, he draws on Éric Auclair’s technical support to connect management decisions with design and manufacturing realities.

Projects

ReacThor

A Diagnostic Tool for Automotive Vibrations

ReacThor is a Mecavex development project focused on diagnosing automotive vibrations. Its goal is to help professionals reproduce and observe vibration phenomena in the workshop to better guide their investigations.

The project brings together mechanical design, 3D modelling and functional prototyping. Development aims to move from concept to a practical tool, taking its use and manufacturing constraints into account.

ReacThor illustrates our approach: start with a practical need, develop a solution and refine it through testing.

From Concept to Prototype and a Patent Application

ReacThor is a development project focused on diagnosing automotive vibrations.

Its design combines the exploration of mechanical solutions, 3D modelling, parts preparation and functional prototyping. Testing helps assess the device’s operation and refine design choices.

This work is accompanied by a process to protect the project’s intellectual property.

A Canadian patent application, No. 3,320,796, was filed on August 11, 2026.

ReacThor illustrates a development process connecting the original idea, design, prototyping and preparation of a patent application.

Project Pilar

A Resilient Structural Platform to Rethink Housing

Project Pilar explores an approach to housing on stilts, using an elevated platform designed to better accommodate site constraints and flooding challenges.

Development focuses on platform configuration, support integration and assembly options. 3D modelling and illustrations help assess concepts, visualize their placement and prepare discussions with the specialists involved in the project.

Pilar is currently at the concept stage.

The next steps will explore feasibility in greater detail and seek validation of the structural solutions from qualified professionals.
